  • Doesn’t work with screen reader

I’m visually impaired and rely on my iPad’s three different screen reading options to read articles. When using the built-in iPadOS screen reader, this app switches to the next article and begins reading it instead. When using the text-highlighting method, I’m unable to select certain paragraphs or more than one at a time, and when using VoiceOver I can’t properly scroll and reading will stop unexpectedly several times during one article. It’s better to use the “reader view” in a web browser than this app for anyone with low vision.

Nice to have the news as a Michigan transplant. A well-organized site.

While local journalism is not what it used to be it is essential nonetheless and especially in these “trying times”. With a Pandemic raging, racial justice and awareness rising and with America on the edge of the cliff of Dictatorship keeping aware is more important than ever. Research your sources, check their history and choose a wide range and together we will make it through this and onto a better day and a more perfect Union. Peace to us ALL.

Have been a subscriber to the News and FreePress for fifty plus years. The only complaints I have are the app is slow to load and some of the stories linger too long on the site.
