  • Meh. Worth a download

This game is fine enough. Sure it’s pay to win but the game has a single player campaign that is fine enough. If this wasn’t a Star Wars game I don’t think I’d be nearly as interested as I am, but the gameplay is alright. All the characters have different moves so collecting them is a useful effort and usually doesn’t cost a penny depending on who it is. When it comes to the microtransactions the only gripe I have is the energy bar that doesn’t allow the player to play the game unless they have sufficient energy. It takes 6 energy to play one round on normal difficulty in the campaign (12 on hard) and you get one energy for free every minute, and the cap for how much you can have increases as you play. But I don’t understand why this is in the game. It’s annoying for free to play players like me, and if EA really wants to people to get sucked into the game and pay for stuff then I don’t understand why they charge them to play it, if anything that would turn off their interest and cause them to put away their wallets. For an iPhone game the graphics are pretty good. They aren’t spectacular or anything but they don’t hinder the gameplay and all your favorite characters aren’t butchered in the slightest. It takes music straight from the movies so it’s all good in that department. I understand why the microtransactions are in the game, it’s free and they have to make their money back somehow. It isn’t the most intrusive thing ever and for an iPhone game it’s actually just fine. But again that energy bar can really be annoying if you get going in the game and just hit this wall. I suspect this isn’t a problem for most players as they don’t spend too much time on one mobile game so it works. All in all, I think you should get the app but it isn't a must-download.

  • Good Game But...

    By Lilylouie27
I loved this game. I played it for over a month but then I got to Fleet Battles... They are so boring. The point of a game is to have fun. This isn’t a bored game. It was a fun game but fleet battles are just so slow. I have stopped playing the game.
  • Keep your money in your pockets!

Hey all! I downloaded the game a few months back because I love Star Wars, and man oh man it is a shot to the heart. The game essentially requires you to spend money on it. At every corner you will be forced between the choice of spending money or not having what you really want. Months and months of grinding to earn ONE character that you liked from a movie or video game of you want to do it for free. I understand having to wait a few hours to do a few battles, I wouldn’t even mind that. But at every turn, with everything you do, there is a wall that makes the game severely uncomfortable for a Free-to-play player. The game is practically unplayable if you want to have fun for free. It’s a real shame.
  • Pay 2 win. EA and Disney should be embarrassed.

So after playing this game for a month I noticed a constant push to purchase loot boxes and card packs. I moved to youtube where there is a large community of players and reviewers. They all admit that Capitol games have increasingly moved any chance to play this game cost money. With patch after patch making impossible to ever get even in the top 100 players. Even to play this game will cost you monthly. Not sure if Disney is aware but if they are they should be embarrassed. EA hiding behind Capitol Games with their past loot box fiasco are at it again. Truly terrible what they have done here money grab at the cost of a franchise we all hold dear.

This is a really great game you should buy and try it.
  • Pay to progress

    By kc4016
I understand companies don’t put out games for nothing, but when it gets to a point where you cannot progress because the only way to get an item is to buy it, that’s when I call it quits. I need 50 of a certain item, 30 characters need that same item, and the only way to get them is to buy them. If you just farm them at a regular pace, it takes 3 weeks to get 50. 30x50 at 50 every 3 weeks, that’s way to long just to get 1 piece of gear. It’s a good game, but they need to balance the game better. Some people don’t have money to spend and those players get left behind. I’m still playing for now but it’s just more of a nuisance. I just kill 5 minutes 2 times a day, other than that I don’t even think about it. It keeps getting pushed further on the back burner and eventually I will stop playing altogether if things don’t get fixed.
  • Amazing Game

This is an amazing game, especially if you love Star Wars. However I only gave it three stars because one day I got on and all my progress had been lost. I went from level 85 back to level one.
  • In app purchases = “content”

    By Westdw
Has been a fun game in the past but it feels like the focus of the game has shifted to squeezing the players as much as possible to drop $60-$100 on packs. The latest ‘actual’ expansion to in game content raised the difficulty level in such an extreme way that my guild’s best squads get wiped out before they can take their first turn, increasing pressure to spend money to keep up with the power creep.. well it’s more of a power jog at this point. They have created artificial gear scarcities to force you to spend crystals because you can’t farm them with energy, and made all characters need multiple of those pieces in order to advance. I could fill another several paragraphs but just know that EA is greedy and the pack prices are insane. Even a $40 purchase might barely get you a single piece of gear. Stay away.
